Medals won in Raub...


Sun, Sept 16,2007...Raub, Pahang...

A kinda of Fun Run organised by the Kuala Lumpur Veteran Association (KLAVA) in Raub.
There were 10 teams N we the Slow Movers .. repped.. by Chan, Jaya N Javier were one of them...an invitation by the Hons Sec Of KLAVA....Ms Julie.... Thank You.! It was nice to meet the members of Klava N other runners such the 1990 Bangkok Marathon Champ.. Mr Durai, Mr Tey, Mr Naidu,..etc...

Met at Bernama about 5.00 am..fetch Javier N the wife at LRT Sentul Timur N off we go..to Raub..It's about 1 hr 45 min on a easy drive. The race took place in front of the Magistrate Court...along the small road leading uphill towards the District Officer's Bungalow,... surrounded by hanging trees N bee hives....providing shade....you can run at any time....very the Nice.

The race starts at about 8.30 am. Jaya was the first runner, followed by Chan N Javier.We finsihed as the Champ in about 00:18:16 . Well Done ! ... Chit-chat... went to the Ground nut Factory in Sempalit... Gathered some knowledge on how the Cambodian N the Chinese nuts were processed n packed. Bought a few packets... at about 10.30 am ..we hit the road again...Back to KL. Bye everyone N Raub.

Mizuno Wave Run 2007

Date: 9 September 2007

Time: 7.30am
Venue: Padang Merbuk, KL
Distance: 10k
Runners: The Sanusi (Along, Angah, Alang, Suriati), Chan, Jaya, Javier, Haiezan and Fairul.
Others: Izzat(unofficial photographer) Iylia.

Before the race started, race officials divided the race participants into two segments, below 45mins and above 45mins. Chan, Jaya & Along started within the front segment(below 45mins), while others @ the back. The race started @ 7.30am.

The 1st kilometer tu struggle sket, sbb ramai crowd. The 1st hill to climb was behind the Bank Negara. It was a long climb, but not too steep. So ok laaa, still bleh maintain lagi.

At about 5km mark, reached the one & only water station. Ingatkan air sirap, sbb kaler merah. Tp rupanya air Powerbar. Tak ler sedap sangat. But better than none. Actually, it gave me some power boost also.

Not far from that, here come the most challenging part of the run. Bukit Tunku hill climb, back to back. The officials gave the second tag here(blue tag).

My strategy was to keep on running, although it's just an inch. No stopping & no walking. Berjaya juga strategi ni. Ramai juga yg kecundang during this hill climb ni. Ada yg fed-up, siap tahan motor lagi.

After the roundabout, it was downhill all the way. So, I took this opportunity to speed up. Sampai kat depan Jabatan Pertanian tu, tiba2 ada sorang runner pengsan. He can't continue the race already. Some runners helped him up, while waiting for medic to arrive.

After that, the last hill climb after Rumah Selangor. 2km to go. Another downhill run before tugu negara, apa lagi, pecut laa until the finishing line. Chan was the 1st to arrive. My number was 668. Hahaha...

We were given the finisher medal. Well, that's the 1st ever medal for me. hehehe... The organizer was good. Have some chit-chat selepas semua dah sampai & balik dlm kul 10am.

Shah Alam 10k Run 2007

Date: 2 September 2007

Time: 6.55am (A&B), 7.05am (C&D), 7ish (the rest)
Venue: MBSA Square
Distance: 10k (A, B, C, D & F) 3k (Family/Fun Run)
Runners: The Sanusi (Along, Angah, Alang, Achik, Me, Nina, Izzat, Iylia, Halil and Akim), Fairul and Cyfull.

While Jaya and Chan went to Klang for the NB Klang Pacers 12km run (heleh, sebab ada finisher's medal je tu), the rest of the sloths (who have guts) came here.

The whole Sanusi clan is back in action today for yet another event. Today Iylia dipinjamkan ke family Achik, sebab nak cukupkan quota for the family category.

The A & B was flagged off first, then the C & D, after that the F and lastly the family category.

I never thought that Shah Alam would be this hilly. Not as hilly as Mizuno but boleh tahan jugak la. Hills dia jauh-jauh cam tu.

The first one to arrive is Fairul and he berjaya memotong Achik and family to the finishing line.

Achik and family arrived then but with emotional encounters. Achik and Iylia quarreled all the way, sampai Achik pressure la. Achik and Iylia dah sampai dulu, tapi the whole family has to cross the finishing line in order to get medal. Tapi apa kan daya, Akim and dad ada technical difficulties pulak. Akim datang angin malas dia so the father has to carry him. Ingat Akim ringan ke Kim. They missed by one place, no 21. Kalau tak mesti medalists punya diorang. Tapi ok la guys, you all survived.....

Alang beat me at the last kilometer. Followed by Izzat, Ibu and Along.

But the hype of the event is none other then the One Kilometer Duo, Nina and Cyfull. Bayangkan, Alang baru lari like 5 minutes dah boleh potong diorang. Camne korang lari, huh? Bukan saja Alang .... Izzat, Ibu and Mama pun boleh potong diorang. I tell you, they are the true Sloths. But, seslow Nina pun still a medalist tau. So pengajaran untuk Cyfull, don't run with Nina, hahahahh....

All the girls except Achik and Iylia, medalists. None for the boys but it's ok. Boleh dapat next week.

Today is also Nina's Bday. So we celebrated her bday at McD Jalan Pahang. Ok, sempena bday awak ni, tolong la buat azam baru... jadi 1.5KM girl pulak, boleh?

Organiser is good. For 10k route, siap ada sponging station.

That's it from Shah Alam. Next week, the much awaited Mizuno Wave Run.. eiiiii takut...

NB Klang Pacers 12KM 2007

Sun, 2nd Sept 2007, Stadium Sultan Sulaiman, Klang...

It was a fine sunday...Jaya fetched me at my house at about 6.00 am...masuk NKVE ...head to Klang...manage to find the Stadium....called Hazreen as he is having our vests N the bibs..Changed n did some warm-up around the track.. 7.15 am...Pooooooooooooooong..!

The runners were off...some ran to add the medal N cert collections, some for better health(fit), some for fun, some for better timing, some for the glory, some had to run...(addicted)...N etc...12 km of running...another unexplainable feeling that would surround u once u have done it....Oh boy....What a feelin..!!! I am addicted to it...Ran in a normal pace...thru out the race but I think it's gettin faster..as my timing is better.I finished in 57:51:97. Just that I had
to control my nature callin almost 3/4 of the race. Sampai saja...dapat medal...terus pecut..towards....mana lagi.... What a relief.....!!!!! Jaya did in about 1:05. The Slowmovers had two newbies running Mr Hazreen N Mr Hasif. Both of them manage to finish it in time without much training. Well Done guys N Welcome!!!

Minum Milo as usual...(ketagih) N lepak around for the Prize givin ceremony N the lucky draw..as usual tak bertuah langsung!...Met some of the running mates like Gana, Sara, Kp Tan N gang, Runningmom,Pacemakers n etc..Nice talking to u all mates....Left at 10.00 am... Bye Klang...!

Next run would the 10k Mizuno Wave Run at padang Merbok ,KL..C U n Bye!!
